Judith Raskoshin

Council

South Amboy

How would you describe your candidacy and vision for the future?

I am running for South Amboy City Council because I care deeply about our community and its future. I want South Amboy to continue being a safe, welcoming place where families can raise their children and where future generations will want to stay and build lives of their own.

I want to support our police, fire, and EMS and make sure our first responders have the resources and support they need to continue keeping our community safe. I would also like to see more opportunities for community involvement, with activities and events that bring together young children, school age children, young adults, families, and residents of all ages.

My vision is to continue strengthening the connection between our residents, schools, first responders, and city government while preserving the close knit community that makes South Amboy such a special place to call home.

What do you want people to know about you?

I want people to know that I am a wife, mother of three young children, educator, and someone who is genuinely invested in South Amboy. As a special education teacher and President of the South Amboy Board of Education, I have dedicated much of my career to working with children and families and serving my community.

Public service has always been an important part of my family. I come from a family with a long tradition of civil service, my father was a Perth Amboy police officer, my brother currently serves as a police officer, and my husband is a New Jersey State Trooper. Growing up in a family dedicated to public service taught me the importance of responsibility, commitment, and giving back to the community.

South Amboy is where we are raising our three children and building our future. I understand the importance of listening to residents, working together, and making thoughtful decisions that benefit the entire community. I want to bring that same commitment to service to the City Council and help make South Amboy an even stronger place for our families and future generations.
