Anita Chadha

Council

South River

How would you describe your candidacy and vision for the future?

I am running for South River Councilwoman because I believe our community deserves responsive leadership, responsible decision-making, and a local government that truly listens to its residents. As a longtime community advocate and nonprofit leader, I am committed to bringing people together and ensuring every voice is heard. My vision is a safe, welcoming, and affordable South River with improved infrastructure, responsible development, transparent government, and expanded opportunities for families, seniors, and local businesses. Together, we can build a stronger future while preserving the close-knit community spirit that makes South River special.

What do you want people to know about you?

I want people to know that I have dedicated my life to helping others. As a retired educator, mother, community advocate, and Founder and Executive Director of the Saraswati Cultural Association, I understand the importance of listening, encouraging others, and serving with patience and compassion. Educators naturally give, guide, and work to help others succeed, and those values continue to shape who I am today. I am approachable, hardworking, and committed to bringing people together. I will bring that same caring, service-oriented spirit to representing every resident of South River.
